In a rollercoaster year, Wanzl UK has reached new heights on a fast, exciting ride towards being one of the leading Retail Shop Solution providers in the UK.
Following a number of successes as a food shop solutions provider with significant contracts built around the core Wire Tech system, Wanzl is now focusing on all non-food categories.
In July 2013, Wanzl was awarded substantial contracts for the manufacture and installation of 120 specialist display units for Tesco’s new ‘Hudl’ value tablet and the development and manufacture of 47,000 shelving overlays for the ‘Tesco’s Finest’ relaunch.
Wanzl was included in GM store trials at Toton, Potter’s Bar and Aylesbury and at the end of November was awarded the majority share of a 250 store GM programme for 2014.
Wanzl UK’s Director of Sales, Design and Marketing, Ian Williamson adds that “this has happened at a time when all of the major UK supermarket retailers start to embrace ‘shopping as leisure’ in the format and experience of their stores.
