Asda have chosen Wanzl’s classic Wire Tech shelving solution for ambient display for their new Leamington Spa PFS store. This follows successful trials at their Wolstanton, Newark and Northolt petrol filling stations.
Finished in subtle anthracite, Wire Tech provides a visually appealing display for BWS, packaged foods, health and beauty products and fresh fruit and veg. A cards and small stationery / gift display is also accommodated in Wire Tech.
Senior Manager for Small Store Formats for Asda, David Tyrer, said that Wire Tech provided several key benefits :
“We have limited retail space available to us in forecourt shops therefore efficient use of space is of paramount importance. We are trialing Wanzl Wire Tech because we believe that it enables us to increase our sales floor yield – increasing the amount of space to the merchandising of products.
“Retailing on the forecourt is also about creating impulse selling opportunities. If we can create attractive and impactful store environments, then we believe this will be good for business. Shelving systems and product displays in general play a huge part in delivering that vision” said David.
Wanzl UK Marketing Manager, Wayne Asher, said that Wanzl was delighted that the aesthetics, durability and long-term value proposition of Wire Tech were now being recognised within small store formats such as PFS and the wider Convenience sector.
“With the emphasis on fresh and the continuing trend to ‘buy less more often’, the eye-catching display of foods and other fast-moving goods is paramount to drive footfall and impulse sales.”
