One of the UK’s most prominent technology and environmental PR consultancies, Prova PR, has been appointed by leading global trolley and retail equipment manufacturer, Wanzl, to launch its latest campaign to tackle abandoned trolleys throughout the UK.
With its UK headquarters based in Warwick, Wanzl, which currently manufactures retail equipment for 13 of the UK’s biggest retailers, including Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Tesco, Homebase and Ikea, has enlisted the help of Prova – whose previous Trolleywise campaign was award-winning – to launch the new and improved Trolleywise app which aims to help eradicate the blight of abandoned shopping trolleys across Britain.
With more than 520,000 abandoned trolleys collected in 2017 alone, trolley loss is a huge problem that costs retailers more than £35m annually. The new app allows members of the public to report abandoned trolleys so they can be collected by local Trolleywise representatives and returned to the retailer.
Prova’s campaign will include launching the service and app to shoppers across the UK via consumer press, as well as communications within the retail outlets. The agency will also be working closely with both retail and environmental press, as well as creating video, digital and social collateral to complement the launch.
